What is the Fatty Liver Index?
The Fatty Liver Index (FLI) is a mathematical formula developed by Bedogni et al. that combines four parameters:

These parameters are used to generate a score from 0 to 100 that indicates the likelihood of having fatty liver disease. The FLI was developed and validated in a study of 496 subjects from the general population of Northern Italy.

- FLI < 30: Rules out fatty liver (negative likelihood ratio = 0.2)
- FLI 30-60: Intermediate probability of fatty liver
